Raised in a suburb of New York City, Vickie was influenced at an early age by her father, an executive art director of an advertising firm on Madison Avenue.  Her appreciation for the arts continued through her young adult life and, after studying at the Parsons School of Design, Vickie began her career in the interior design department of B. Altman and Company in Manhattan.  She relocated to San Francisco for a time where she was a sales consultant for an office furniture company until she married and started a family.  Upon returning to the East Coast and settling in Richmond, Virginia, Vickie joined O.H. Jones Interiors where she enjoyed a very successful twelve more successful years in interior design. 

With her eye for design helping her craft her vibrant works of art, Vickie has now enjoyed painting for more than 20 years.  Her love of color, textures and experimenting make her acrylic paintings alive.

Since 1998, Vickie has pursued her talent for creative art and has attended workshops in watercolor, pastel, oil, mixed media and collage.  She has studied under such notable artists as Katherine Chang Liu, Gerald Brommer, Pat San Soucie, Carrie Burns Brown, Pat Dews, Eydi, Lampasona, Virginia Cobb, Glenn Bradshaw, and many others.  Vickie’s artwork has evolved over the years and she continue to experiment with acrylics, gel mediums, gesso and papers creating unique compositions of color and texture.

Vickie has won numerous awards throughout her career. Her work can be seen at Pluff Mudd Art Gallery on Calhoun St. in Bluffton and in private homes and commercial businesses throughout the country.

Since Vickie and her husband retired to Hilton Head Island in 1999, she has become very active in the art community.  Vickie is a member of the Art League of Hilton Head, the Beaufort Art Association, the Society of Bluffton Artists (SOBA), and she is a signature member of the South Caroline Watermedia Society.  Vickie has been accepted into many juried shows and won numerous awards, including Best of Show.  Her work is hanging in private collections throughout the United States as well as Scotland, England, France and Mexico.
